Deborah Baldwin – Theatre Educator, Author, and Curriculum Creator
Hello, I’m Deborah Baldwin. I’m so pleased you are checking out this page. With more than 38 years of experience in theatre education, I’ve spent my career inspiring students to discover their creative voices through performance, storytelling, and collaboration. I’ve taught and directed in schools across Colorado, Kansas, and Missouri, producing over 325 plays and musicals with students of all ages.
Teaching and Directing Experience
I began teaching theatre in 1982 and spent nearly four decades developing drama programs that encouraged young performers to think critically, take creative risks, and celebrate the power of ensemble. My productions have ranged from large-scale musicals to intimate student-written plays.
Today, I continue to support teachers through professional workshops, conference presentations, and curriculum design. My approach combines structure and spontaneity — helping students learn the craft while enjoying the process.
Author and Resource Creator
In addition to teaching, I’m the author of two books:
-
We’re Live! Radio Theater #101 – a teacher’s guidebook for bringing radio plays into the classroom
-
Bumbling Bea – an award-winning middle-grade novel about friendship, empathy, and self-expression
As the creator behind the DramaMommaSpeaks TeachersPayTeachers store, I’ve developed and created over 440 products, serving over 24,000 teachers and rank in the top 1% of sellers worldwide. My lessons are used by teachers across the globe, combining theatre history, playwriting, technical theatre, arts integration and creative expression.
