A THEATER EXPERT’S THOUGHTS ON THEATER, TEACHING AND DIRECTING

AS SEEN IN

Who is this Dramamommaspeaks?

I’m an award-winning veteran drama teacher, now retired having taught for over forty years. Also, I am a very experienced, successful theater director. I’ve directed over 350 productions with adults and children. Currently, I am a curriculum author for my store, Dramamommaspeaks and sell to thousands of teachers around the world.

I have a BFA in Theater from Stephens College where I studied acting portraying many roles including Gwenviere in Camelot and Miss Prism in The Importance of Being Earnest, among others. I hold an MED in Creative Arts Learning, (arts integration) from Lesley College. Although I have performed professionally in the past, I’ve spent the bulk of my career developing drama education programs, curriculum and directing.

Recently, I was asked which skills students develop in a theater class and how those skills can be applied in future careers. Check out that blog here: Why Drama Education Matters: Developing Key Life Skills.

Lastly, thank you for visiting my blog! I love to hear from teachers who love theater education as much as I do, so feel free to email me.
